NORTHERN BORDERS OF EARLY MEDIEVAL AZERBAIJAN ACCORDING TO ARMENIAN AND ARAB-MUSLIM SOURCES 1 The article aims to study the administrative and political map of the South-Eastern Caucasus and North-Western Iran in the era of Sasanian Iran (227-651) and the Arab Caliphate (632-1258) on the basis of information from the ancient Armenian (V-XIII) and Arab-Muslim (IX-XIII) geographical and historical literature, mainly to clarify northern regions and borders of early medieval Azerbaijan (III-IX)2.
